What does it mean to be OneThread verified?

We've developed (and are developing) a context-based assessment that looks at sustainability holistically - from sourcing + labor to longevity, culture, + impact. The certification means that your brand has completed the assessment and scored at least 70/100 points.

Do I need to be perfect to join?

Absolutely not. We don't expect perfection - just honesty, willingness to grow, and alignment with ubuntu-driven values. This is a journey.

How much does the certification or onboarding cost?

Our pricing is tiered on your business size and capacity. Snapshot assessments are free. Deep dive audits and OneChain verification are priced transparently.

Is onethread only for African brands?

Yes - but when we say Africa, we mean anyone with a valid African passport from this continent. We center African creators, wherever they are.

Can i just be on the marketplace without the certification

Not right now. We're starting with verified brands only to build trust. But we'll soon offer capacity-building and community tools for growing brands to prepare for certification.

How is blockchain used here?

We use OneChain, our blockchain-based system, to keep things honest - from tracking supply chains to showing how brands pay workers, and even how we use funding.Every action, from certification scores to sustainability claims, is verified and traceable. It's about building real trust - not just saying the right things. With OneChain, we're creating a transparent, data-driven system that supports accountability, better policy, and long-term change across African fashion.
